How I work with parents:
- I am the mom of an ADHD teen daughter. I lead my parent sessions with empathy.
- I believe that children want to be good, and that hard behavior is merely communication of what they are feeling or struggling with.
- I learn about parents’ values, their current systems, what is working in their home, and their current struggles. I then empower them to make the changes they would like.
- My approach to working with parents involves using evidence-based strategies to build awareness, try experiments, and facilitate personal growth. Through our work together, I’ve watched many parents gain more confidence and build strong relationships with their children.
- I collaborate with parents to devise plans based on parents’ priorities, goals and understanding of their children.
- I focus on improving communication with your child, setting effective boundaries, motivating them through connection, working with and acknowledging their strengths, managing difficult behaviors, and fostering emotional resilience.
- I want parents to leave each session with tricks, hacks, and tools they can use!
